Chapter 1 - Festival and Fire

Bullet Points:

• Mayor Devarin announces the Swallowtail festival open.
• Sheriff Hemlock reminds the crowd that the original fire burned down and killed the old priest and his daughter five years ago.
• Lonjiku Kajitsu  didn’t show up to the festival to speak when he was scheduled.
• Father Zantus hits the thunderstone on the podium to begin the consecration of the new cathedral when the goblins attack.
• Aldern Foxglove was cowering behind some barrells being attacked by goblins on dog-back when the characters save him.
• He voices his gratitude and says he’ll be staying at the Rusty Dragon and the characters should come by sometime to claim their reward.

Goblins Attack!

1)  A group of 3 goblins attack the group.  Almost comical in their approach, the little bastards seem more interested in food and mayhem rather than actually killing anyone.

2) A large explosion alerts the group to goblin activity south of the cathedral.  Goblins, urged on by the creepy singing of a Warchanter, have managed to set fire to the fuel cart used for the festival's bonfire.

3) The barking of a dog and the cries of someone being attacked draw the group back north in time to see a Goblin Commando kill a dog with a large bladed polearm called a horsechopper.  A nobleman is cowering behind a set of rain barrels and calling for help against the attack.
